Looking Into The Career Life Of Anthony Constantinou

 

Anthony Constantinou is an Assistant Professor and Head of Bayesian Artificial Intelligence at the Queen Mary University of London. Bayesian Networks are a probabilistic model that represents a set of variables, and their provisional dependencies, through a directed acrylic graph. They are applied in modeling a variety of systems including ecology, medical and weather systems. Anthony Constantinou works together with academic and industrial organizations globally to apply his research in sports, finance, medicine, economics, and gaming.

Presently, Anthony Constantinou works as a lecturer in Machine Learning and Data Mining. Before his position as an assistant professor, Anthony Constantinou worked on an NHIR project at the Barts and London School of Medicine and Dentistry on Bayesian Networks for risk management, and risk assessment in forensic psychiatry from September 2012 to July 2014. Between July 2014 and January 2017, Anthony Constantinou worked on an ERC project for improving evidence-based decision making through the Bayesian Network technology at the School of EECS.

His publication “Bayesian Artificial Intelligence for Decision Making under Uncertainty” won him an honor for the Principal Investigator on EPSRC Fellowship project. Constantinou finished second in the international special issue competition Machine learning for soccer. His PhD. thesis was nominated for the CPHC/BCS Distinguished Dissertations, He was awarded Distinction for M.Sc. and earned a full EPSRC Ph.D. Scholarship and funding

He has studied in two universities. In 2009, Anthony Constantinou graduated from the University of Hertfordshire with an MSc in Artificial Intelligence with Robotics, and then in 2012, he graduated with a Ph.D. in Bayesian Networks from Queen Mary University of London. Between 2009 and 2013, Anthony Constantinou worked as a teaching assistant at Queen Mary, where he taught several modules such as Software Risk Assessment, Software Engineering, and Procedural Programming. Mr. Constantinou also works as a freelance consultant in rating systems and Bayesian networks. Anthony Constantinou uses his knowledge to make predictions for uncertain situations, including betting in the sports industry. He worked as an associate consultant at Aegena Risk, from July 2014 to July 2015, where he participated in strategic planning and investment decision making. Interestingly, Anthony Constantinou also served as a soldier for Cyprus in between 2002 and 2004.

BIOGRAPHY

Anthony Constantinou is a known lecturer and an assistant professor at the Queen Mary University in London. He was born on 1st of July 1984 in Cyprus, but he has dual citizenship of both Cypriot and Britain. He is a native Cypriot though he is also fluent in English. Constantinou is an excellent researcher with outstanding academic performance.

His research interests are in Bayesian Artificial Intelligence, and he has a Ph.D. in Bayesian networks. In 2008, Anthony Constantinou completed his bachelors in computer studies at the University of Hertfordshire. He then proceeded for masters in the same university in artificial intelligence with robotics where he graduated with distinction.

He has been received various awards and honored in his works and publications since 2009. Amongst the recent grants is when he was ranked the 2nd in the international competition hosted by machine journal 2018. He published a paper describing the model in the journal. It was in this same year when he was appointed by the Alan Turing Institute to be a Turing Fellow. These are just but few of his awards this year.
